So many thanks for the comment about daily specials.  We have been twittering and facebook-ing and have committed to a GOOD daily special that you can count on!  From now on, Wednesday night is GOOD FAMILY NIGHT at GOOD DOG.  From 5-8pm, children (12 and under) eat a GOOD DOG free with the purchase of an adult GOOD DOG.  Then we’ll switch gears and deem the very next day THIRSTY THURSDAYS!  $1 tall-boy PBRs EVERY Thursday - ALL DAY!  So, get in here with your family, get in here with your friends or just come by yourself…you’ve got friends here!  Keep an eye on our blogs and facebook/twitter pages for additional daily specials!

Can you tell how much we value and appreciate you?

HOT DOGS - year round and not just for lunch!

September 24th, 2009

I must admit that I don’t know where summer went (and I hate it when people say things like that).  HA!  We at GOOD DOG just wanted to remind you that a GOOD hot dog (meat or veggie, of course) is GOOD all year round!  Sure, hot dogs just scream “summertime”.  BUT, at GOOD DOG we scream “hot dogs” daily all year long!  We are open 7 days a week from 11am-8pm.  We offer free wi-fi and a great selection of cold beer.  Not only are hot dogs a year round food, but they are also not just for lunch anymore!  Seriously, come in and enjoy a great dog for dinner and sip on an icy cold Heineken or stop by after your meeting for a cupcake.  We’ll be waiting for you!

…so much GOOD stuff!

September 16th, 2009

OK, seriously, how much GOOD stuff is going on out there?  Granted, the weather is a bit gloomy, but  hot dogs and cupcakes taste GOOD any day!  We are still making our pesto spread from the basil in our garden and have added the pimento cheese dog to the menu permanently.  The carrot cake cupcakes are back for Fall and the fresh key lime buttercream is sticking around to remind us of summer!  We have added a seasoned warm cheese sauce to our menu which you MUST dip your frites into next time!  So, on a food note, we feel like it is all GOOD at GOOD DOG!

On another important note, the City Scope magazine is accepting ballots for their upcoming “Best of…” issue.  They added Best Hot Dog to the list.  You can vote for your favorite Chattanooga restaurants up to three times.  There are categories like Best New Restaurant, Best Dessert, Best Customer Service and on and on.  Chattanooga is blessed with some AWESOME “mom and pops” out there who really benefit from the publicity that comes from an issue like this.  Get on-line at www.cityscopemag.com and vote for your favorite local spots.  We all appreciate it so much more than you know!

And…(see I told you there was a lot of GOOD goin’ on) this Friday night at the FREE Nightfall concert series in Miller Plaza, the band Dr. Dog is headlining.  If you have not heard them, get on their myspace.  They are fantastic!  GOOD DOG would LOVE nothing more than to host Dr. Dog for dinner before Nightfall, and are even working on that invitation (we will let you know if they come on Twitter and Facebook Friday night), but regardless of where they eat, make sure you check it out Friday night.  The GOOD DOG fans will all be there and it would be fun to hang out with you all!  It’s free…

OK…there is definitely more GOOD to speak of, but you won’t read much more.  For all of the “not-GOOD”, come into GOOD DOG for a smile from one of us and for the best hot dog and cupcakes around.  We may not be able to stop the rain, but we are sure to turn your frowns upside down.

Summer at GOOD DOG

May 27th, 2009

We at GOOD DOG are SO excited for our very first SUMMER season on the North Shore.  The Memorial Day weekend was a fun one for us as so many folks could enjoy 3 days of nice weather and time to enjoy family and friends!  W e have anticipated these sunny days and the increased traffic in the restaurant!

Thanks to your many suggestions and urgings, GOOD DOG has put a COMBO on our menu.  Just add 4.75 to ANY dog, making your meal a combo with a small frite and beverage.  As you know, each frite comes with unlimited trips to the condiment gallery where you can sample our housemade ketchups (curry and wasabi) as well as the European fritesaus, and spice it all up with the many hot sauces and ‘dog dust’ (ask a GD employee what this is!!!).  You may also enjoy unlimited refills on your fountain beverage.

Great GOOD DOG tshirts are now available (YES, they are AMERICAN APPAREL) and are just 18.  We have had requests for the “nice buns” tshirts and are working on that one.  Bumper stickers are also available for 2.

Summer promises to be great and we sure look forward to serving you soon!

Have a GOOD day,  Susan :)

World Water Week - March 22-28, 09

March 23rd, 2009

GOOD DOG is proud to be a part (39 other Chattanooga restaurants are also participating) of Unicef’s TAP PROJECT.  The TAP PROJECT offers restaurant customers the opportunity to donate $1.00 for the water that they request and GOOD DOG will send the donation to Unicef who in turn works toward helping providing clean drinking water to children around the world.

900 million people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water and 4200 children die daily due to a lack of clean water.  With just $1. Unicef can provide safe, clean drinking water to a child for 40 days.

For more information and for other participating restaurants around the country, visit TAPPROJECT.ORG.

GOOD DOG LOVES GOOD THINGS and this is one of them FOR SURE!
